Teachers work in two steps: create the profile once in your organization's directory, then assign that teacher to each course they teach. This guide covers both.
Step 1. Create the Teacher Profile
In the left sidebar under Students, click Teachers. The page is headed Teachers & Staff — Manage platform teachers and non-teaching staff — with two tabs:
- Teachers — teaching staff who can be assigned to courses and appear on your public website.
- Staff — non-teaching people such as office staff, who exist only for gate attendance.
Click Add Teacher at the top right and fill in the form:

| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Name | Teacher's full name — the only field you must complete |
| Photo | A square image, 1:1 ratio. Shown on your public site and in the teacher list |
| teacher@example.com | |
| Mobile | 01234567890 |
| Institution | University or School — searchable later, so you can find everyone from one institution |
| Students | A self-reported figure such as 100+ or 50-100, shown as social proof |
| Experience | Free text such as 5+ or 10-15 years |
| Bio | Teacher's background and expertise |
| User account | Optional: Connect to existing user — links the profile to a login |
You will see Teacher created successfully!
Connecting a user account is what lets a teacher log in. Leave it blank and you create a profile record only — it appears on your website and can be assigned to courses, but that person cannot sign in. The list shows this as Standalone rather than Connected.

Step 2. Assign the Teacher to a Course
A profile on its own does not teach anything — you still have to put the teacher on each course they run.
Open the course, click its Teachers tab, then Add Teachers. Search by name, email or institution, tick the people you want, and confirm.

→ How to Manage Course Teachers covers that dialog in full, including how to read each teacher's existing course load before adding more.
Troubleshooting
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| A teacher cannot log in | Their profile is Standalone. Edit it and connect a user account |
| Failed to create teacher | The save did not go through. Check the name and try again |
